Introducing Mia: Through the Lens

Welcome to the Simplex party.

My name is Mia, and I am a photographer, artist, adventurer, risk-taker, music lover, and creative. Recently graduated with my Bachelors in Multimedia with an emphasis in Photography from San Diego State University, I am constantly on the move, exploring, and trying to find new ways to show the world through my lens. I believe that everyone has a story to tell and the way that each person chooses to showcase their vision is what makes us all incredibly unique.

I often find myself at war between my thoughts and my words, as I usually have a tough time expressing exactly what I want to say, so showcasing myself through photography is how I feel I am able to best portray my emotions. I am extremely drawn to creative portraiture and lifestyle photography, but my favorite form of expression would have to be simply capturing my everyday memories. My friends and family are my biggest influences and form of inspiration, so you’ll most likely see all of my best friends show up in my work at least once.

The biggest goal that I want to accomplish here at Simplex Minds is to learn how to be a little nicer to myself. I am my biggest critic, as we all tend to be, and I want to be able to appreciate the work I put into creating content I am proud of without worrying about the judgment of others. I am aiming to be more confident in my creative process and understand that art can be literally whatever you want it to be. And that’s the beauty of this whole thing.

I hope you can come to love the work that Simplex Minds creates. We are a team of like-minded and passionate individuals whose main goal with this project is to bring together creative minds of all types to show that this field doesn’t always have to be as difficult as it looks.
